This little know movie came out in limited release in smaller theaters but because of my love for Jack Black and the thirst to watch everything he is in (yes, even "The Jackal"), I had to check out "Be Kind Rewind". Surprisingly, it is heartwarming and, while at times slightly bland, a rather good film. Mos Def plays the overwhelmed movie store clerk perfectly and Black, like always, offers completely over the top ridiculousness throughout the film. I really enjoyed the remade versions of films that Black and Def managed to put together. Inspiring for any young film maker. Stylized in the same manner as "The Science of Sleep" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Be Kind Rewind" offers decent laughs, good feelings, and a message in the importance of community. And Jack Black.
SCORE: 7.1/10
